Nehemiah heard of the need of the remnant left in Jerusalem to rebuild the walls. He spoke to God about this burden and God provided him not only His mercy and His Word, but all the materials needed to perform this task. When Nehemiah arrived, he reminded God's people of God's promise. The people altogether said, "...Let us rise up and build. So they strengthened their hands for THIS good work."( Nehemiah 2:18). It took one person to remind others of God's Word, and they rose up.
Hebrews 10:24 says "Let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works." The Bible also says, "Pure religion and undefiled before God is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction..."(James 1:27). We want the love of God to move us to love others through the work of our hands.
